On Silver Wings
Well amazingly enough On Silver Wings filtered through the Amazon review process in around 8 hours. Of course it’s not all the way through yet, but the novel has shown up at the Amazon.com page so most people can access it now. UK and Germany readers may still have a little longer to wait.
What can I say about OSW? It’s one of my favourite works, combining a ton of lessons learned the hard way while working on Odyssey One, Thermals, and fanfic galore. Lots of action, a few fun characters, and even a few tongue in cheek references for you lot to catch.
It’s not my longest novel, but it’s fast paced, action packed, and a lot of fun. You can check it out on Amazon Kindle right here : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005QOX3ZY?tag=fiwi0f-20
Person of Interest
Ok, this is an interesting one. A little old school 80s style updated for the new millennium, shades of Knight Rider with some definite influences from other shows. Unlike many of those, the protagonist here isn’t afraid of using a gun and making it count. Basic concept is that a Bill Gates type character created a supercomputer for the government, one that tracks and analyses all the data from emails, phone calls, CCD cameras, and everything else and uses that information to track terrorists. The thing is, it also finds all kinds of lesser crimes. Crimes the government doesn’t have the time to worry about. That information is sent through a backdoor in the form of nine digits. A social security number. Enter the hero, a former government assassin looking for a cause he can believe in. Armed with only one person of interest to start from, he has to figure out what crime is coming, who is committing it, and how can he stop it. All I can say is… shades of The Dark Knight. From the big brother computer systems spying on cell phones to the main character that I CONTINUALLY kept checking to be sure that it wasn’t Christian Bale. No wonderful toys, unfortunately, but he makes use of what he can lay his hands on pretty effectively. He’s not unwilling to kill, but this isn’t the punisher either. Overall, I liked this show. It’s one to watch. Check out Person of Interest this season, I don’t think it’ll be time wasted.
Ringer
Well, Sarah Michelle Geller is back on the air in her new show, Ringer.
She’s still too thin, but looks better than the last three seasons of BTVS at least. The show does a decent job on makeup at least, showing the difference between the two sisters. Production value is noticeably low, though. They usually don’t mess up bluescreen work like this these days, can’t decide if the show is worth my time yet but honestly it isn’t setting things up particularly well. Feels like a made for TV movie, not the start of a new series.
Rather bland unfortunately to date, but maybe it’ll get better.
Steam Legion – A New Novel
This summer and fall I’ve got a full plate of original novels in development, I hope to have four out by the end of the year in fact. Some of them are familiar to at least some of you, Heart of Matter and On Silver Wings have been made available on the group in varying forms in the past for example. One, I’m sure you all know VERY well. SEAL Team 13 will be making it’s first strike against the darkness that dwells beyond the veil this summer…
The fourth is one many of you probably don’t know about, so I thought I’d share a little snippet from the book that I think will start one of my most epic narratives yet. I’d appreciate comments, in fact if I get them then you’ll probably get more snippets in the future.
The pic above is just a cool theme image I found on deviant art, it doesn’t have anything to do with the novel, just has that roman theme.
Check out the artist here.
