nice: that harry managed to merged plan a and b without a hitch, to see wends acting more human here, to see fenrir again (if only briefly). boy, would the lavelles be surprised when xander makes good use of that book. nice job.

That certainly would have been a more interesting way to have had it played out in the movie.

This was an excellent chapter, one of the best in a long while. Of course I particularly enjoyed Wednesday's reaction to the dragons as well as her needing Xander's comfort. Looking forward to some more of that at the Yule Ball.

Love it. Excellent chapter with a nice little twist in there with Xander and Wednesday being very distantly related. Granted, it was actually something that could have been foreseen since the magic world is so insular. I imagine that with enough digging, Xander could be found to be related to the Potter's, Black's, or some other wizardly family.

As good as your usual writing is, you have a real gift for action scenes, and when you include the conversation on Grindelwald's skills (which surprised an actual laugh out of me, nevermind all the people hanging around who shouldn't think I'm enjoying myself right now) this is easily the single best chapter so far, IMHO.

You're also doing an amazing job in building up the "rules" of this universe, and since you're presenting them to us through the research and conversations of the characters, instead of just telling us as the narrator, you're avoiding the usual problem of exposition boredom.

Heh, wonder what Davis will think when Xan comes home with some new tricks. Quite possibly some tricks the Lavelle family don't know. Ah, and with him knowing the base, the ground work for it, he really has a chance to advance it. And not just Occ and Leg, the book was Thought Magic. Probably has most of the Lavelle bloodline traits in it. Damn, potion making, wank crafting, object enchanting, spell creating, and what, next year he will advance TM?

Nah, take too long. Probably have to take to sixth year to really learn it all and start to do that. So what's next year? Proving the existence of some of Luna's creatures?

You see those dos equis commercials about the most interesting man in the world? Yeah. His chocolate frog card is going to be interesting. Seriously, I think the only real job for him is the founder of a think tank. (a goal should be to speak gobbledegook.... in mermish)

Of course, the potion was an accident, the wands still aren't quite up to snuff, and he had a manual (of sorts) for the map. Just don't tell the card people that.

Saw some emotion from Wens here. Poor things indeed. Why wouldn't they just use fake eggs for the lot? Maybe that goal should be to increase the IQ of the wizarding world.

But no one saw how Harry got the egg. Then again, they would have just seen him stare at the thing then get the egg. Not much there. Eh well, probably just as well, still got a good rep for getting out unharmed, and all mysterious like. Though, now they know he has the cloak. Are you already typing up McGonagall's reaction?

First task down, indeed. Again, 3-3½ out of 5. Didn't have me hanging onto the edge of my seat, but that is what negotiation gets ya instead of death defying stunts. Perhaps a small let down there, but it was obvious chapters ago it would be like that. Might want to put in a real confrontation with Draco soon. Or perhaps the Ravens try to get back at Wens and Xan gets pulled in. And along those lines of thought, is the bouncing ferret going to make an appearance? Maybe Xan razzing on Draco's embarrassment there could lead to a good fight?

Well, at any rate, the Ball is going to be the next big thing. How will Christmas be this year?

A great set of updates. The spell creation is down to the numbers now, I would think that it could be turned into music and that could help the wand movements or incantation or both.

All of the characters seem to be developing naturally an in character. Harry seems to be getting a lot of help from multiple sources, this is good. But while he is getting the advise, he seems to have trouble putting it in action in new situations. This is understandable to a degree given the neglect/abuse but I would like to see him start to grow and move forward soon.

Excellent as usual. once again it's Wednesday who makes my day, both by putting Potter down while helping him and in the game with Chang. I have been looking forward to that little tidbit from the ravenclaw dorms for some time now since you hinted to it. please give me more Wednesday. The only criticism i have is that I think it would be better if she played a bit longer with Chang before bringing up the sharia rules. something along the lines of, "and does the owner know that you are borrowing it?"
all in all a great story that can only be better as you deviate more from canon.

I wish there was some way to get notices that there has been an update. I really like this story and need my fix.

Outflying the dragon is passe, talking to the dragon no so, getting the dragon to do something to the judges is a good thing. Don't drop a load of dung on the judges, that has been done. Maybe a load of urine, perhaps!

Sharia Rules. Absolutely perfect. soo Wensday Addams, soo right for the little thieving bullies.

Guess it's too bad for Cissy, the cat seems to be out of the bag. Harry being acknowledged as Regent Black. Guess there won't be any turning back. Too bad for Dumbes too, perhaps.

BTW, your shield spell seems to have an inherit flaw/weakness. Finite being able to dispel it since it seems to be conjured. Although, it would be funny to create an uber shield capable of taking multiple AK's yet pretty much any second year and most first years could beat it. Course, there could be a lock, to keep finite from working. Could be your third spell (conjuration/protego/???)

And we also get to see Wens playing with her dorm mates. Awww. So nice to see fellow students bonding, and from different years too. >:)

Chayton also seems to be in for a surprise next summer. Really wonder how good Xander is getting. But one thing is for sure. His rep will go up being the "Chosen One's" trainer. And being able to kick Harry's ass.

Real highlight has to be the reaction to the dragons though. Harry roaring at the dragon, and getting the dragon to hand (or tongue/claw/tail) the egg over. Super rep. Also the start of Occ/Leg training for Harry. Also 2: Wens is a hypocrite. When Xan says something brutally honest, she glares at him, when she does it, she says that's just the way truth is some times. Wonder if Xans will through that back at her some time. Or Harry. Or Herms. Or Luna. Or all three, one after the other.

Well, got to give this one a 3½ out of 5. Good plot development, some comedy. Not much is the way of action. Generally another chapter to build up the story and support the big ones.

(P.S. I read someone offering the castle is Sunnyhell for the Addams to rent for xmas. Much better to buy it for Xander. The castle and Angel's place are the only ones I could think for Xander and his parents to move to. Less you want to go non canon.)

This was a very interesting chapter, liked the twist on the Skeeter situation.

Coming up with different things for the task bodes well for the future.

i'll have to reread the Duelling Club scene in this story to check the continuity of Hermione not knowing Harry is a Parselmouth, it's been quite a while.

I was starting to miss Wednesday a bit, so it was great to see more of her.
