In this chapter, was Xander in the Diagone (spelling error alert) Alley .. if So, why didn't he goto Gringotts ... better yet, Why hasn't someone mentioning going there .. if, as per your HINT, he's from the "OLD" (England) side of the family .. One of the "Last" as you said ... and not really a Colonial ... I would think the rest of the "Family" would want to reclaim some of what's in the Family Vault

I really liked the scene with Xander's aunt, and I'm starting to finally make up my mind about her, or at least narrow down the possibilities. Based on what little we've seen of her, and her actions and words, I'd say she's either the most tolerant, or the most scheming person in Xander's family (or quite possibly a combination of both). Unlike the Harrises, she seems to have looked beyond the obvious and noticed something that caught her attention or hinted at potential, in Xander. After seeing her again now, I think my favorite theory is that she's basically testing him by seeing how he acts and speaks (and, obviously, what he doesn't do or say), and giving him little nuggets of information to see how he reacts to those, and what kind of further information he can dig up by himself. Whether she's doing that because she likes him, or hopes to use him in the future (or, again, a combination of both), I really can't decide, but I'm definitely seeing a lot of possibilities for how things might turn out. I have a feeling that Xander will be shocking a whole lot of people in his life... :D
You also totally nail Gomez, and I can't even express how much I love that. He's (barely) my favorite member of the family, so I hope we'll see a lot more of him in the future! I'm especially hoping that he'll take Xander under his wing, to a greater or lesser extent, but I'll admit that that's nothing more than hopes and fantasies, even though it would totally rock.
As far the new characters you introduced, I haven't really seen enough of them to want to draw any conclusions, but I have a feeling that with Lockhart as DAtDA teacher, having someone who can easily find out about, and get ahold of, defense textbooks from the other schools, will be more than useful. Heh, and I'm sure that Narcissa will have a thing or two to contribute, as well. I always thought it was silly that absolutely *everyone* in the Wizarding World seemed to love Lockhart (since noone has absolute popularity), and something tells me that Narcissa could easily be among the less gullible witches in Britain.
Now, I'm just looking forward to seeing how Xander and Wednesday will deal with Hermione panicking on the Express, over Ron and Harry not being there, not to mention their reactions to the flying car. Something tells me the next chapter will be even more entertaining than usual!

seems like she wants him to research his family line for something but doesn't want to come out and ask him to do it.
"Who's this Lockhart dude?" He whispered to Wednesday.
"I do not know." She admitted, "I've never read any of these books."
I can't wait to see Wednesday's reaction to him. she doesn't seem the type to suffer fools likely.
