I guess I need to add some notes here, concerning the last part or two.
Concerning Slavery and the story and history... Wise Up.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Those who have decided to jump my shit over Xander's comments need to wise the hell up. Xander is a 14 year old boy known for shoving his foot in his mouth. Stop assuming that what he says in one chapter has jack all to do with how the story will develop. At 14, if he didn't say something that pissed people off, I'd be writing the story all wrong.
So, just to wrap up : One statement in a story this fricken huge hardly covers all I have to say on the subject, especially not while I'm INTRODUCING it.
All that said, I do expect to further piss you guys off many, many, times in this story. Especially those of you who adhere so closely to hollywood history.

Normally I don't do author's notes, I don't like them as a rule you see. Mostly they distract from the story and make the author look like an idiot... or worse, make it look like the author thinks his readers are idiots. Wait... is that worse?

I do want to address the issue of caffeine in hogwarts, namely the complaints made. Some have questioned how it can be banned when British drink tea like normal people breathe air... or something to that effect.
Well, in the books I don't recall tea ever being served to students in the Great Hall. Occasionally a teacher offered a cup in private, and of course there was Divination class... but not in regular meals. Similarly candy was unofficially regulated by it's availability being, mostly, limited to hogsmeade weekends.
It's entirely possible that such things are simply banned from being TOO available. At least it is here, anyway.
